Six Sigma

Algistix partners with Six Sigma experts to advise in product development and bring additional value to our products in the form of consulting services.

What is Six Sigma good for?

Six Sigma principles can be employed to improve several different aspects of business performance; from improving yields to maintaining quality, to pricing products for maximum profits.

Where does CFIMS fit in?

When looking at your business in terms of an ongoing war for profits and against losses, CFIMS would be the sum of all your intelligence-gathering sources and analysis tools.  Whereas Six Sigma is the highly trained expert there to analyze the information made possible by CFIMS and pass the results of that analysis on to the people that can make the course correction.

Does CFIMS require Six Sigma consulting?

Absolutely not.
Think of CFIMS and the Six Sigma process as being like corn and mashed potatoes. Each is amazing on its own, but together, they are magic.

Have any real-world examples?

Recently, an ethanol plant was averaging fermentation yields of 2.80 gallons per bushel of corn. After implementing CFIMS and completing the Six Sigma consulting and training project, average yields were elevated to 2.876 ga/bu. With corn at $4.00/bu , this was a cost savings of nearly $2,000,000 annually in feedstock alone. 2018 was an extremely difficult year for the ethanol industry and, without the savings brought on by Six Sigma and CFIMS, this plant would have ended the year in the red.

For another in-depth example, visit James Frugé’s (Six Sigma Master Black Belt) website for a case study on how CFIMS + Six Sigma saved another ethanol plant millions of dollars annually.
